OUR COMMITMENT

Mazzoleni Trafilerie Bergamasche S.p.A. has integrated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a fundamental part of its corporate culture and strategy. This means that the company does not solely pursue economic objectives but adopts a responsible approach towards employees, customers, suppliers, and the community in which it operates.

With a view to sustainable development, Mazzoleni is implementing a structured path based on ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) criteria, which represent the three pillars of corporate sustainability.

Our guarantees are certified

Our Quality Management System has been UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 certified since 1992.
This certification attests to our company’s organizational efficiency through a precise process of defining and verifying objectives. Among these objectives are continuous improvement and the production of products that meet market demands.

The UNI CEI EN ISO 50001:2018 certification defines the fundamental guidelines for improving energy efficiency, reducing operational costs, and integrating energy performance into daily management.

Through a structured and sustainability-oriented Management System certified UNI EN ISO 14001:2015, we are committed to responsibly managing our activities, improving our environmental performance, and creating added value for the environment, our organization, and all stakeholders.

INTEGRATED POLICY FOR QUALITY, ENVIRONMENT, AND ENERGY

To ensure responsible and sustainable growth, in line with the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ESG performance, the Company has adopted an Integrated Management System for Quality, Environment, and Energy. This system complies with the UNI EN ISO 9001:2015, UNI EN ISO 14001:2015, and UNI CEI EN ISO 50001:2018 standards and is applied to the management of all key business processes, including:

  • procurement, production, and sales;
  • training and qualification of employees;
  • maintenance of machinery and equipment;
  • calibration of measuring instruments;
  • direction and management of internal audit checks.

 

The main objectives of the Company are:

  • to confirm and strengthen its reputation for the quality of products and services;
  • to reduce environmental impact and ecological footprint;
  • to implement more efficient and sustainable processes, with particular attention to energy performance.

SUSTAINABILITY

The company is also a member of UNSIDER (Italian Steel Standardization Body), actively participating in the development of industry standards at the national level (UNI standards), european level (EN standards), and international level (ISO standards).

For Mazzoleni, sustainability also means protecting the territory in which we operate. In 2021, an acoustic survey was conducted in the external environment, followed more recently by a study on the diffusion of odors from the production site. Both analyses confirmed full compliance with legal limits.
Among the most significant projects, the Company completed the installation of the second photovoltaic system, which now covers approximately 35% of the total energy needs of the entire production site. Additionally, for 2025, a revamping of the first photovoltaic system, installed in 2010, is planned with the aim of improving its efficiency.
Always with sustainability in mind, a dual-output charging station for electric vehicles has been installed, enabling fast, simple, and low environmental impact charging.
Fighting waste and promoting respect for the environment are fundamental values of our production activities, which translate into concrete actions and mindful choices.

Water recycling and purification system

The installation of the water recycling and purification system, enriched by continuous improvements in recent years, has allowed us to reduce the specific consumption of drinking water by over 50%.

Solfataric plant

The installation of the sulfuric plant enables the recovery of iron sulfate, a byproduct of sulfuric acid derived from the pickling process. This material is used in agriculture as a fertilizer and in water treatment plants as a pH regulator or anti-algae agent. Furthermore, the purified sulfuric acid is reused in production processes, allowing a 94% reduction in its consumption.

Our black annealed wire FILTIBÍ®

Among our products, the black annealed wire FILTIBÍ® is not only essential for the recovery of paper, plastic, and municipal solid waste, but it represents much more: it is infinitely recyclable and ensures a zero impact in terms of CO₂ emissions into the air.

QUALITY

The carefully selected raw materials, such as perfectly homogeneous steel and pure electrolytic zinc, the advanced and reliable technological processing methods, and the thorough quality controls, performed continuously, ensure a product with uniform mechanical and chemical-physical characteristics that meet the latest international standards and customer requirements.

  • customer focus: it is committed to understanding and meeting customer expectations, acting in compliance with applicable standards and/or legal requirements.
  • process approach: it divides various activities into processes, planning and monitoring them, ensuring that objectives and expected results, responsibilities, and resources are clear. The goal is the continuous improvement of process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • leadership: it guarantees that everyone has the necessary resources, ensures that planned objectives are compatible with the context and strategic directions, and reviews the effectiveness of the QMS annually by gathering feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • risk and opportunity assessment: the organization plans its processes with a risk-based thinking (RBT) approach to implement the most suitable actions to evaluate and manage risks associated with processes and leverage and strengthen identified opportunities.
  • employee involvement: Fully aware that employee engagement and the participation of all collaborators are of primary importance, it promotes the development of internal skills through appropriate training, ensuring that all information is understood and applied by everyone.
  • improvement: This is the objective of the QMS performance; Mazzoleni makes the necessary investments to achieve planned objectives and includes them in the “Annual Quality Improvement Plan,” which is drafted following the quality review.
